We Proudly Inform You – About STOLZ.

You know this about us – we always view our entrepreneurial actions within a broader context. In fact, we believe that in times like these, there’s no getting around it. The developments in the world around us influence our entrepreneurship and daily business like never before. Not least, we consider some aspects of these developments – climate change, war in Europe, or political earthquakes triggered by elections – as central risks for our future, both as entrepreneurs and as citizens. But we are equally convinced that in these “stormy waters,” established and lived values serve as anchors.

A central corporate value: Innovation.

For us, innovation is the result of a fundamental attitude and therefore a central part of our business model. Because we are niche specialists, our customers challenge us daily to provide the corresponding added value through innovation.

With a bit of pride and great joy, on June 28, 2024, in Weimar, we received the award as Top Innovator from the mentor of the TOP 100 innovation competition, Ranga Yogeshwar, during the German SME Summit. The TOP 100, the most innovative companies in the German SME sector, were awarded for the 31st time. This year, we are part of this innovation elite for the third time, after 2013 and 2016. Before that, we participated in a demanding scientific selection process, during which our innovation management and innovation success were examined. We are pleased that our attitude has been rewarded with this seal.

STOLZ plants 250 trees.

We mean business. This means outstanding engagement (Environmental Management Award 2023 from the BMU, as we previously reported) in operational environmental management and daily business, but it also means commitment to climate action and sustainability on a local level. Therefore, in cooperation with the Südkurier in Baden-Württemberg, we planted 250 trees as part of its “Newspaper Forest” campaign. The goal of the “Newspaper Forest” project is the sustainable reforestation of forests, which, according to current knowledge, will withstand the changing climatic conditions in the future and thus become more resilient. With every tree planted, we come a little closer to this goal.

Excellence as the Foundation of Business Relationships

As part of our collaboration with one of our customers, we are part of a so-called “Network of Excellence.” What we practice there and discuss with other supplier partners fundamentally influences us as we confront the daily challenges imposed by a rapidly changing world. Keywords here include legal regulations that are well-intentioned but become bureaucratic monsters in their ideological implementation due to excessive regulations and documentation requirements (e.g., drinking water regulations, supply chain laws – deforestation-free supply chains, CO2 accounting as a tool for greenwashing), competitive pressure from manufacturers in countries not bound by these regulations, a zeitgeist that values “life” – in terms of leisure and enjoyment – more highly than “work,” a zeitgeist that considers honesty and reliability as “secondary virtues,” and price pressure that prioritizes “cheap” over all other values. The answer to this is excellence. We translate this into consistently values-based corporate governance, economically sustainable efficiency, and continuous improvement, including tools from lean management. Additionally, we pursue ecologically sustainable corporate management in line with our values, as well as continuous staff development and promotion to retain employees, resulting in nearly zero turnover.

We aim to implement and realize excellence with all our customers, and it is the standard by which we want to be measured.

The Fire Department Practices with Us.

Fire alarm! A brief moment of excitement – and then everything went smoothly. Fortunately, the alarm was only triggered for training purposes. In the summer, the volunteer fire department of Herdwangen-Schönach practiced a fire scenario, including the rescue of people from the upper floor and the deployment of the breathing apparatus team. Our team, in turn, was able to go through the internal processes planned for this hopefully never occurring emergency.

The result at the end of the exercise:
everything is safe at STOLZ.
